You Can Smell Like Cinema’s Deadliest Predator With New JAWS Perfume

Ever wanted to smell like the ocean but you’re landlocked? Well, perfume company Xyrena has the perfect solution for you: they’ve just launched a new Jaws perfume. As a part of their partnership with Universal, the brand is creating an all-new line of scents inspired by the studio’s most iconic films, beginning with the blockbuster that starred it all, which celebrates fifty years this year.
The new perfume, which comes in a special VHS-style clamshell case, has top notes of salty sea air and aquatic fresh citrus, along with sugar kelp and warm sand, with base notes of saltwater, driftwood, bloody metallic ambergris, and what they refer to as a “feral Great White musk” — whatever that means. The fragrance is described as easy to wear for daily use, so you can spritz a little on and evoke the energy of Quint’s humbling monologue about the USS Indianapolis.
“Universal Products & Experiences is the perfect partner to help expand the Cinematic Scent Archive. Their legendary library spans every genre and includes some of the most beloved films in entertainment history. Their team truly understands nostalgia and the emotional weight these stories carry,” said Xyrena founder Killian Wells.
The new Jaws scent joins Xyrena’s iconic Cinematic Scent Archive, which aims to evoke the spirit of classic films, allowing audiences to experience their favorite movies in an all-new sensory medium. Other films Xyrena has created fragrances for include American Psycho, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Nosferatu, Sleepaway Camp, and Creepshow, and their Jaws scent is just the latest in a long line of fiftieth anniversary celebrations for the film, which also include a museum exhibit, IMAX screenings, special merch, and more.
Xyrena’s new Jaws perfume retails for $98 USD, and is available for purchase now.
