Hot on the heels of The Conjuring: Last Rites demolishing the box office, today brings news that The Conjuring series at HBO Max has found its showrunner and executive producer in Nancy Won (Supernatural, Tiny Beautiful Things).

Per Variety, Peter Cameron and Cameron Squires (Agatha All Along, WandaVision), will join as writers on the series which has been in development since 2023.

Described as a continuation of the story that was established in the Conjuring films, which see Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga play real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, Peter Safran will also executive produce, as will James Wan's Atomic Monster, bringing Wan back to the film series he started in 2013.

Being the official highest-grossing horror franchise to date with a combined $2.4 billion box office against a combined budget of $263 million, a Conjuring series really seems like a no-brainer. But as Wilson and Farmiga's turn as the Warrens wraps up with The Conjuring: Last Rites, the fourth and (supposedly) final film in the mainline film series (not including spin-offs like Annabelle or The Nun), the big question now will be who is taking up the mantle of playing the pair for TV? Stay tuned for updates as we get them.
