Bloomquists’ Cult Horror SELF-HELP Heads To Theaters For Halloween

Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting have acquired North American VOD and streaming rights to Self-Help, with the cult slasher from Erik and Carson Bloomquist (She Came From the Woods, Founders Day) hitting theaters on October 31 via Mainframe, with “Mischief Night Sneak Previews” coming on October 30.
Directed by Bloomquist (Erik) and co-written by both Bloomquists, Self-Help stars Jake Weber (Medium), Landry Bender (Fuller House), Madison Lintz (Bosch), and Amy Hargreaves (13 Reasons Why), and follows a young woman as she infiltrates a dangerous self-actualization community after her mother becomes entangled with its enigmatic leader.
Cineverse will release Self-Help onto Digital and VOD in early 2026.
In a statement, the Bloomquists have this to say of the acquisition:
“The tireless team of genre fanatics at Cineverse have built a thrilling ecosystem, and we’re eager to contribute to their uncompromising filmography,”
Cineverse adds:
“Self-Help represents everything we love about horror: fearless storytelling, visceral gore, and disturbing imagery that stays with you long after the credits roll. We’re delighted to be bringing Erik and Carson’s next film to audiences across North America,”
