Gone Girl author and screenwriter Gillian Flynn is teaming with Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky on an original erotic thriller, Deadline reports.

Plot details are nonexistent at this stage, but the project is in development at Sony Pictures.

Flynn is writing the screenplay, while Aronofsky has closed a deal to produce via his Protozoa Pictures banner, but is expected to also direct.

Araonofsky, who also helmed horror movie Mother!, most recently was reported to be in talks to helm the reboot of Cujo, while Flynn penned a first draft of  Tim Burton’s new take on Attack of the 50 Foot Woman starring Margot Robbie.

The author is best known for writing Gone Girl, adapted for David Fincher to direct with Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike starring. Flynn also wrote Sharp Objects, a limited series for HBO starring Amy Adams, and the novel Dark Places, which was adapted into the film starring Charlize Theron.

There’s not much to go on with this project, not even a title, but the first time team-up between Araonfsky and Flynn on an erotic thriller suggests a dark ride ahead.

Stay tuned.
