Regal is launching a new “Back to the Beginning” series next month that celebrates origin stories and famous artists, which includes a trio of genre films making a return to the big screen.
Catch supernatural comedy Ghostbusters in theaters on January 5, Jordan Peele’s Get Out on January 19, and A Quiet Place on January 26.
Whereas Ghostbusters and A Quiet Place both launched franchises that are still going strong, Peele’s feature debut marked the start of an illustrious career in horror so far, with a fourth movie on the way.
“Repertory films in the Back to the Beginning program introduce iconic characters from widely popular movie franchises and represent the early creative vision of some internationally acclaimed filmmakers,” said Brooks LeBoeuf, Senior Vice President of US Content at Regal. “From action flicks to heroic tales to fantasy epics to gritty crime dramas, the Beginning series brings what were once unknown adventures and unfamiliar creators back to the big screen.”
Themes, dates, and titles for the movies included in the full Regal’s Back to the Beginning program in January are as follows:
Week One: Heroes Assemble
Jan 1 – John Wick (2014)
Jan 2 – Spider-Man (2002)
Jan 3 – Batman Begins (2005)
