The buzz is strong for Shudder and IFC’s Faces of Death, a strange new feature that pulls the original VHS-era series into the real world, where a killer forces viewers to question whether viral videos are real or staged… and, according to the red-band trailer, Charli xcx seems to enjoy them.
In this final clip from the film, we see Charli xcx hanging out by a locker, watching something on her phone. Barbie Ferreira approaches her and asks what she’s watching. Charli shoves it in her face and reveals a pretty graphic recreation of a snuff scene from the OG Faces of Death tapes: a man having his head dissected and spliced open.
In Faces of Death, now in theaters, a woman (Ferreira) working as a content moderator for a major video platform discovers what appears to be reenactments of murders from the original film. In an online world where nothing can be trusted, she must determine whether the violence is fiction or unfolding in real time.
