Amazon MGM Studios has released a trailer for ‘Verity’, pitting Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson against each other in the erotic thriller.
Darkness lies ahead in the tailer for Amazon MGM Studios’ psychological thriller Verity. I am suddenly very curious about this one. Based on the first look below, it seems we could have an eerie, erotic thrill ride coming our way this October, combining sex, chills, and seasonal horror. And we just don’t have enough of that these days.
Adapted from Colleen Hoover‘s best-selling novel, the film “follows renowned author Verity Crawford (Anne Hathaway) and Lowen Ashleigh (Dakota Johnson), a struggling writer who relocates to the remote Crawford estate to ghostwrite for Verity. After Lowen uncovers what appears to be Verity’s chilling autobiographical notes, she wrestles with the disturbing and twisted confessions about Verity’s husband Jeremy (Josh Hartnett), and finds it hard to separate fiction from reality, manipulation from attraction, and opportunity from obsession.”
Ismael Cruz Cordova (“Cabinet of Curiosities”) and Brady Wagner also star.
Michael Showalter (The Big Sick) directed from a script by Nick Antosca (“Channel Zero”).
At first glance, it looks like there’s a whole lot of psychological mind games and bloody imagery floating through Verity, making me think the October release is no coincidence. And with a script from Antosca, I have to believe the film is going to bring some twisted terror to eyeballs this Fall.
