Curry Baker‘s (Milk and Serial) new horror film, Obsession, arrives in theaters next week, but you don’t have to wait until then to fall in love with Nikki (Inde Navarette).
As part of the film’s marketing campaign, Focus Features unleashed the obsessive lover: text 724-876-4554, and you’ll begin receiving all sorts of fun (and creepy) messages from Nikki!
The campaign hit the streets of New York and Los Angeles this week, featuring messages from Nikki. The campaign, tied to the heated horror film, blends romance with unease – inviting passersby into an increasingly intense one-sided conversation.
The first billboard messages are simple and affectionate: “I love you so so so much,” followed by a direct plea – “Text me?” – and the phone number: 724-876-4554. Signed “xo Nikki,” the tone initially reads as playful, even sweet. But as the campaign unfolds, the messaging escalates.
Subsequent billboards introduce a more frantic edge. Scribbled notes, crossed-out phrases, and repeated questions begin to dominate the space, with Nikki asking, “Why haven’t you texted me?” The visual progression suggests a shift from admiration to fixation, reinforcing the campaign’s central theme: obsession.
The billboards are strategically placed in high-traffic areas, including Fairfax Ave. & Blackburn Ave. in Los Angeles and 1652 Broadway & W. 51st St. in New York City, ensuring maximum visibility… and intrigue.

In Obsession, after breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic (Michael Johnston) finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.
The film marks Inde Navarrette’s breakout role: “Her ghoulishness has all the makings of a newly minted horror icon. I’m not exaggerating when I say this performance is genuinely startling,” Our own “Think of Mikey Madison’s fireworks in , then imagine she’s been bitten by a Deadite suffering from the world’s worst migraines. Her suffering is nearly as frightening as the suffering she enacts on the world around her. It’s a revelation.”
