Production is well underway on Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, and ITN is currently at the Cannes market, representing its Twisted Childhood Universe, which reimagines classic public-domain characters as brutal horror villains.
The company’s social shared a look at its Cannes booth, revealing the first look at the sales art for Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3, teasing a new enemy for the slashers in the Hundred Acre Wood.
Josephine Blazier will lead the film as MoMo, with returning cast members including Lewis Santer as Tigger, Eddy MacKenzie as Piglet, and Marcus Massey as Owl, while George Drogo joins the cast as Winnie-the-Pooh, and Roger Jackson, the iconic voice behind Ghostface in the Scream franchise, lends his voice to Rabbit.
This time around, Scott Chambers will direct the film. Chambers previously produced the first two Blood and Honey movies and recently directed Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare. Franchise creator Rhys Frake-Waterfield, who directed the earlier entries, will remain involved as a producer.
The screenplay comes from Richard Stanley, known for Color Out of Space and Hardware. The film will also expand its dark take on the Hundred Acre Woodwith additional characters such as the heffalumps and woozles. The tone of the new film is said to be darker, heightened, and more serious than the previous entries.
The growing horror universe is also building toward a major crossover event film, Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble, which will bring several of the franchise’s twisted childhood characters together on screen.
