Ella Rubin is set to play a camp counselor in the upcoming thriller series from Netflix, “The God of the Woods”, based on Liz Moore’s novel.
Ella Rubin (Pictured above in Until Dawn), has been cast in Netflix’s thriller mystery series, “The God of the Woods“, reports Deadline.
Based on the bestselling novel by Liz Moore, “The God of the Woods” is “set in the Adirondacks, exploring the Van Laar family’s dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from her family’s summer camp — in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. As the past and present collide, the Van Laars’ wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power.”
Rubin will play a camp counselor whose life is up-ended when little Barbara goes missing.
She joins Maya Hawke and Kerry Condon.
Rubin has begun to make a name for herself in the horror, having starred in Until Dawn and Fear Street: Prom Queen. While I’m not sure how deep into genre “The God of the Woods” will go (if at all), hopefully it marks another step towards the actress becoming a horror regular.
Liz Hannah andLiz Moorewrote, executive produced and are co-showrunners on the series.
Also executive producing are Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty for Original Film. Sony Pictures Television is the studio.
