Maggie Grace and Steve Howey have been cast in ‘Fiona’, a story based on the cult podcast, ‘Knifepoint Horror’.
Maggie Grace (“Fear the Walking Dead”, The Fog) and Steve Howey (Day Shift) have been cast to star in horror film Fiona, reports Deadline this morning.
Based on the cult podcast Knifepoint Horror and adapted from an original story by Knifepoint‘s writer, creator, and narrator, Soren Narnia, the film “follows a lonely, divorced doctor who falls in love with a mysterious woman in rural America, only to discover she is channeling the raw forces of Mother Nature toward an apocalyptic purpose. He must then decide whether to save the woman he loves or the world she intends to destroy.”
As they say, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. This sounds fantastic.
Nicholas McCarthy (The Prodigy) directs from a script by Justin Yoffe and Evan Hart
The project hails from Capstone Studios (Obsession).
Said producer Kearie Peak, “There’s something in Fiona that speaks to a collective exhaustion with each other, with the state of the world, with the damage humanity continues to inflict on itself and the environment. The film channels that anxiety into horror that feels primal, emotional, and strangely cathartic”.
First launched in 2010, the outlet notes that Knifepoint Horror has amassed over 10 million downloads. Not too shabby. Nor is Fiona the first feature to come out of the universe. That honor belongs to Lockbox, based on the fan-favorite episode “The Lockbox. That film is set to release from Aura Entertainment and MGM+ this summer.
Production on Fiona is set to kick off tomorrow, May 28th.
