Dead by Dawn: New ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Trailer Reads From the Necronomicon

Tickets are now on sale for Evil Dead Burn, and Warner Bros. is celebrating with a brand new trailer that reads from the Necronomicon and suffers the consequences: everyone will be dead by dawn.

The new trailer is blistering hot, unleashing a flurry of chilling new footage. It opens with all the classic Evil Dead ingredients: the tape recorder, the Necronomicon, and the reading from the book that inevitably unleashes absolute chaos.

There’s very little story on display here, with the trailer instead serving up a montage of crazy shit. People crawl up chimneys as blood comes gushing out of them, someone gets stabbed through the ear, fingers are smashed off, bodies are bashed to bits, and everything culminates in an inferno of flames engulfing the screen in the final seconds. It looks like another fucking epic Evil Dead movie is upon us.

Oh, and the “dead by dawn” callback will have longtime fans grinning.

In the film, after the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.
