EXCLUSIVE: It’s always exciting when we get to help introduce a brand-new horror icon to the world, and today we’re doing exactly that.
We’re exclusively premiering the very first teaser trailer and official artwork for Gator Face, an upcoming Dread Original Production from writer/director Padraig Reynolds (Open 24 Hours). The swamp-set slasher blends masked-killer carnage, creature feature thrills, and cult horror into what looks like one seriously nasty survival nightmare.
Set deep within the unforgiving Florida swamps, Gator Face promises a practical-effects-driven horror experience featuring live alligators captured on set, alongside handcrafted in-camera gore effects created by Russel FX, the Los Angeles-based special makeup effects studio whose credits include Hellraiser (2022), The Ritual, and VFW.
The official synopsis reads:
“A Florida vacation becomes a blood-soaked fight for survival when a group of friends is hunted through the swamps by a savage cult that feeds its victims to ravenous alligators in the name of an ancient reptilian god.”
Blending relentless creature attacks with masked-killer horror, Gator Face delivers a unique crossover of slasher brutality and creature chaos. Set deep within the unforgiving Florida swamps, the film combines survival horror, creature-feature suspense, backwoods terror, and eerie cult mythology into a visceral Southern Gothic nightmare that evokes Midsommar while channeling the raw intensity of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes, and Crawl.
The film stars Amariah Dionne, Tabitha Brownstone, Scot Scurlock, and Nikolas Kolasinski, and was produced by Jason Scott Goldberg, Patrick Ewald, Padraig Reynolds, and Wes Thomas for Epic Pictures and North County Productions.
