Na Hong-jin, director of ‘The Wailing’, has a monster movie fast approaching in ‘Hope’, and today, we have a new poster to set our sights on.
Na Hong-jin‘s (The Wailing) upcoming creature feature, Hope, has quickly become one of my most anticipated horror films of the year. The first action-packed trailer blew me away. Since then, the film has gotten mixed buzz, with recent comments declaring the film’s re-edit is nothing short of a masterpiece. With the release fast approaching, Neon has released a new poster teasing the film’s intensity.
In it, we see a cop aiming down her scope at something in the distance, a village burning behind her. Unfortunately for her, there’s a massive creature already looming right above her.
The film’s title comes from the location: “In the remote village of Hope Harbor, a mysterious creature has wreaked havoc on the village. Police and local hunters set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But not all is as it seems. As panic spreads and reality begins to unravel, the village finds itself facing something far beyond imagination.”
Starring are Hwang Jung-min (The Wailing), Zo In-sung (Moving), Hoyeon (“Squid Game”), Michael Fassbender (The Killer), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Taylor Russell (Bones and All), and Cameron Britton (“Mindhunter”).
Hope marks the first feature from Hong-jin since his excellent folk horror film, The Wailing.
Set your sights on Hope when it lands in theaters September 9th via Neon.
