After making a splash at Cannes earlier this year, Victorian Psycho has unveiled a striking new poster ahead of its theatrical release this fall.
The bold one-sheet puts Maika Monroe front and center, clad in Victorian-era attire while gripping a bloodied axe against a vivid crimson backdrop. It’s a simple but incredibly effective design that immediately evokes American Psycho, teasing Monroe’s unsettling turn as the film’s mysterious governess. The poster also proudly features several critical pull quotes – including Dread Central’s own “Delightfully Obscene,” which is always exciting to see spotlighted on a studio one-sheet.
Directed by Zachary Wigon, Victorian Psycho is based on Virginia Feito’s novel of the same name, with Feito adapting her own work for the screen.
Set in Victorian England, the gothic horror follows an eccentric governess who arrives at a remote manor, where increasingly strange events lead the household to suspect she’s hiding something far more sinister than anyone imagined.
Ahead of its release, the MPA officially rated Victorian PsychoR for “strong bloody violence and brief sexual material.”
Alongside Monroe, the film stars Thomasin McKenzie (Last Night in Soho), Ruth Wilson, Jason Isaacs (A Cure for Wellness, The White Lotus), and Jacobi Jupe (The Exorcist).
Victorian Psycho is produced by Dan Kagan (Longlegs) under his Traffic banner alongside Sebastien Raybaud (Greenland: Migration) for Anton and Zachary Wigon, in association with Anonymous Content.
Victorian Psycho opens exclusively in theaters on September 25, 2026.
