Rel Howery is set to make his directorial debut with ghost comedy ‘Haunted Heist’, haunting homes this August.
Comedian Rel Howery is one of my favorite elements of Jordan Peele’s Get Out, simply because the actor provides much-needed (and hilariously memorable) comedic relief to Peele’s masterpiece. Now, Howery is set to make his feature directorial debut with ghost comedy Haunted Heist, and we have our first look at the trailer below, courtesy of Saban Films.
When a reunion trip turns into a robbery, four friends discover the mansion’s owners—ghosts from the 1950s—never left. Trapped by the spirits planning a demonic sacrifice, the friends must battle supernatural terror to survive the night.
The film stars an always entertaining cast consisting of Tiffany Haddish (Haunted Mansion), Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor (The Babysitter), Karlous Miller (Glorious Mail), Ari Dayan (Entitled), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), and Howery.

In the trailer, we see the sort of hijinks you’d expect, from possession to tongue-flicking and talk of ghosts coming inside others…yeah, you get it. The CG doesn’t look great, but this otherwise appears to be an entertaining haunted house comedy.
Haunted Heist arrives on Digital on August 4th via Saban, with a DVD available on September 15th.
