Nine Inch Nails Celebrates 30 Years of ‘Quake’ With Killer Limited-Edition Collection

It has somehow been 30 years since Quake changed first-person shooters forever, and Nine Inch Nails is celebrating the anniversary with a brand-new limited-edition collection inspired by the landmark 1996 video game.

For anyone who somehow doesn’t know the connection, Trent Reznor and Nine Inch Nails created the original game’s dark, industrial ambient soundtrack and sound design, helping give Quake its uniquely oppressive atmosphere. Thirty years later, NIN is going back to hell with a collection of merchandise that pulls directly from the game’s aesthetic.

The Quake + NIN 30th Limited Edition Collection includes a $45 T-shirt, $90 hoodie, $20 keychain, $30 ammo box, and a $38 2xLP vinyl pressing of the soundtrack.

It’s all fairly expensive, which isn’t exactly surprising for Nine Inch Nails merchandise. That said, anything I’ve personally purchased from NIN over the years has been incredibly high quality, so at least there’s that. I just wish I could afford some of this shit right now.

The standout might be the ammo box, which recreates the game’s industrial NIN-branded ammunition crates as an actual collectible storage box. There’s also a tiny version available as the $20 keychain, because apparently someone correctly determined that Quake fans need miniature Nine Inch Nails ammo boxes hanging from their keys.

Thirty years later, Quake still looks and sounds cool as hell.
