Here’s some golden news for fans of KPop Demon Hunters. Criterion announced their November titles this morning, and Netflix’s animated hit was among them!
Still haven’t seen KPop Demon Hunters? It follows chart-topping girl group HUNTR/X, whose three members struggle to juggle the pressures of stardom with their task to protect the world from supernatural forces. When their demon foes take the form of a rival boy band, the trio must overcome the secrets brewing between them to take them down.
The film stars Arden Cho (Rumi), May Hong (Mira) and Ji-young Yoo (Zoey).
Chris Appelhans and Maggie Kang directed.
KPop Demon Hunters blew expectations out of the water. Not only is it a great film full of catchy tunes, but it went on to win two Oscars after becoming one of Netflix’s most-streamed films ever. Yes, I still hum the soundtrack every other day, it seems.
Presented in 4K (with stunning cover art by Ami Thompson), Criterion’s disc comes loaded with special features, including a new making-of documentary!
