Can’t wait for Adam Wingard’s ‘Onslaught’? A24 has just released a video that introduces fans to the psychotic super soldiers of the film.
Adam Wingard‘s (The Guest) super soldier horror film, Onslaught, blasts into theaters a few weeks from now from A24. But the studio isn’t waiting to introduce viewers to the trio of maniacs at the heart of the film, posting a new video to IG that introduces the masked killers.
With the caption, “Programmed to kill. Meet the super soldiers of Adam Wingard’s Onslaught“, the video teases The Butcher (Alex Pereira), Crybaby (Tyler Hall), and the Cockroach (Dave Campbell), all named after their military backgrounds. Split into three parts, we see each in explosive, bloody action.
The footage, like the trailer, depicts a balls-to-the-wall film in the vein of The Guest, blended with Halloween and The Fog. It’s Wingard returning to his violent roots after years in the studio system with films like Godzilla vs. Kong, and we’re here for it.
A24’s official synopsis reads: “When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.”
Leading the charge is Adria Arjona as the sniper forced into survival mode, joined by an absolutely stacked supporting cast that includes Rebecca Hall, Dan Stevens, Drew Starkey, Michael Biehn, Reginald VelJohnson, and Eric Wareheim.
Onslaught opens in theaters on September 4.
