Neon has announced that Na Hong-jin’s monster movie ‘Hope’ will now arrive in theaters two days early for a premium format screening event!
At this point, Na Hong-jin‘s (The Wailing) creature feature, Hope, is one of my most anticipated films left on the calendar. The trailer looks absolutely epic, teasing a large-scale monster movie with loads of propulsive action and eerie chills. If you also can’t wait to see it, lucky us, because Neon has announced that the film is coming to theaters nationwide two days early for a premium format screening event!
Yes, Hope will now be unleashed on Monday, September 7th for the special event. The film will screen at 175 PLF locations across the country in six premium formats, including Dolby, 4DX, ScreenX, HDR by Barco, D-BOX and Dolby Atmos, with participating theaters in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas and more.
Shot on an epic scale, Hope has already become one of South Korea’s highest-grossing box office releases of the year. Not too shabby.
The film’s title comes from the location: “In the remote village of Hope Harbor, a mysterious creature has wreaked havoc on the village. Police and local hunters set out to track the beast and find themselves hunted instead. But not all is as it seems. As panic spreads and reality begins to unravel, the village finds itself facing something far beyond imagination.”
Starring are Hwang Jung-min (The Wailing), Zo In-sung (Moving), Hoyeon (“Squid Game”), Michael Fassbender (The Killer), Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), Taylor Russell (Bones and All), and Cameron Britton (“Mindhunter”).
Hope marks the first feature from Hong-jin since his excellent folk horror film, The Wailing.
Don’t plan on attending the early premium screenings? Set your sights on Hope when it lands in theaters September 9th via Neon.
