The black mirror is powering back on.
An eighth season of Netflix’s Black Mirror is officially in production, with Variety reporting that filming quietly got underway this summer.
There’s no word yet on when the new episodes will arrive on Netflix, nor have any cast or story details been revealed.
Creator Charlie Brooker previously confirmed the anthology would be returning, teasing that Season 8 would hopefully be “more Black Mirror than ever.”
Brooker is writing and executive producing the new season alongside Bisha K. Ali, with Jessica Rhoades, Annabel Jones, and Louise Sutton also serving as executive producers. Mark Kinsella is co-executive producing.
Season 8 follows the seventh season, which debuted in 2025 and notably included Black Mirror’s first-ever direct sequel with the return to the world of fan-favorite episode “USS Callister.”
