New Trailer for Joko Anwar’s Gore-Filled ‘Ghost in the Cell’; In Theaters October 2!

Indonesian filmmaker Joko Anwar (Satan’s Slaves, Impetigore) is back with his latest horror entry, Ghost in the Cell, which Well Go USA is next bringing to theaters on October 2, 2026.

The new trailer for the horror-comedy, set within an Indonesian correctional facility, turns the gore up to ten.

The film plunges viewers into a high-security prison ruled by feuding gangs and a tyrannical warden. The arrival of a new inmate kicks off a series of mysterious, gruesome murders that leave its victims on morbid display. The hapless inmates trapped in the prison must overcome their rivalries to unmask an invisible, otherworldly enemy. No one is safe as the cells cage in the horrors and a ghost roams the prison with murderous intent.

“Beneath its supernatural surface lies something very real: the massive deforestation in Indonesia and the way this destruction is too often met with silence or neglect,” Anwar said in his director’s statement. “The ghost in this film is not only a presence haunting the cells, but also a reminder of consequences we choose not to face.”
