‘Stranger Things: Tales From ’85’ Goes Full-Blown ‘Scooby-Doo’ in Season 2 Trailer

Netflix has released the official trailer for the second season of Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, and this time the Hawkins Investigators Club is going full-blown Scooby-Doo.

The new footage leans hard into a haunting mystery, complete with ghostly figures lurking in the woods, paranormal activity, creepy creatures, and supernatural Demogorgon-style monsters as the kids attempt to figure out what the hell is happening in Hawkins this time around.

Season 2 takes place around Valentine’s Day, with mysterious apparitions and a swarm of “hate sprites” wreaking havoc around town. The Hawkins Investigators Club eventually discovers that the activity may be connected to Hawkins’ abandoned silver mines and another potential gateway to the Upside Down.

It all carries the same colorful, playful energy as Season 1, which unfortunately ended up being a complete dud for me. And considering Netflix already had Season 2 in production when the first season arrived, I’m not particularly optimistic that much will have changed.

There are simply too many great horror movies and television shows fighting for our attention right now, and I just don’t have the time for this one. To be completely honest, I’m kind of over Stranger Things at this point and ready for horror’s next big thing.

But hey, if you enjoyed the first season, the gang is coming back. Brooklyn Davey Norstedt, Luca Diaz, Benjamin Plessala, Braxton Quinney, Elisha “EJ” Williams, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport, and Odessa A’zion return as Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Nikki.

Stranger Things: Tales From ’85 Season 2 premieres September 17, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
