We are certainly in the renaissance of Halloween, with the season seemingly more popular than it’s ever been in my lifetime. Every year feels a little more like being 10 years old again, with more and more brands finding an excuse to get in on the action.
Sure, for them it’s a capitalist cash grab. For us, it’s heaven.
When we were kids, places like McDonald’s and Burger King were constantly pumping out cool Halloween-themed stuff. Now everyone’s doing it. Hello Kitty Halloween toys? Absolutely. Every conceivable food turned into some bizarre seasonal flavor? Fine. Even pumpkin spice, as exhausting as it has become, is still this very specific taste we get for two months every year, and I enjoy having it around.
Costco has been spotted selling a ridiculously huge Frankenstein-inspired chocolate head from Ten Acre Gifts called the Monster Mash Chocolate Head.
The fucking thing weighs 5.5 pounds.
The hollow green monster is made from Belgian milk chocolate and comes filled with fruit-flavored gummy body parts. It even includes a little mallet so you can smash his head open and feast on the candy inside!
It’s currently being spotted at Costco warehouses for around $50, although availability and pricing may vary by location.
I haven’t seen any other monsters in the collection yet, but this one is more than enough to officially kick off the two-month stretch where I start buying completely unnecessary Halloween shit.
