A bloody Jessica Chastain embraces her daughter in the new image for Rob Savage’s creepy haunter, ‘Other Mommy’.
Universal Pictures’ Other Mommy surprised the hell out of me with a trailer that chilled me to the bone. It looks like another terrifying film from Rob Savage (Host) sure to have our skin crawling. That’s in large part thanks to a creepy performance by Jessica Chastain (It Chapter Two), who appears to get very bloody in a new image released today by Fandango.
Based on Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House, Other Mommy follows Bela, an 8-year-old girl living in a home strained by marital problems, who comes face-to-face with a sinister entity emerging from her closet. The presence, which she calls “Other Mommy,” becomes an increasingly terrifying threat to both Bela and her family.
Looking at the image below, I’m very worried for Bela.
The film also stars Jay Duplass (Transparent), Arabella Olivia Clark (Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere) and Dichen Lachman (Severance), with James Wan producing alongside Blumhouse and Atomic Monster.
Other Mommy opens exclusively in theaters on October 9.
