Todd McFarlane’s iconic comic book character Spawn is set to land in ‘Diablo Immortal’ this month, with a new video announcing the news!
How’s this for a perfect match made in Hell?
Todd McFarlane, the creator of Spawn, took to IG today to announce that his iconic character is coming to the world of the hit video game series Diablo in Diablo Immortal this month!
Yes, everyone’s favorite warrior from Hell will soon arrive in Diablo, bringing his own demons to those of the world created by Blizzard Entertainment.
For those unaware, Diablo Immortal is a free-to-play spinoff of the Diablo games that takes place between parts two and three. It’s available across mobile devices and PC.
As for Spawn, McFarlane created the iconic comic book character, who first appeared in Spawn #1 back in May of 1992. The story follows Al Simmons, a government assassin who dies and goes to Hell. There, he makes a deal to return to Earth as a Hellspawn so that he may see his wife again. But once he learns the deal was a trick, Spawn uses his newfound powers to battle the might of Hell.
The comic spawned decades’ worth of issues, action figures, video games, and even a pretty terrible movie back in 1997. Fingers crossed that the next film is better.
Spawn drops into Diablo Immortal on September 29th. And if you’re attending BlizzCon, make sure to catch the Diablo Immortal presentation with McFarlane on September 13th.
Diablo Immortal is free to play/download here.
