So much joy.
Nothing sells a Christmas movie quite like Thomas Lennon (Hell Baby) screaming that he’s a crazy man with a chainsaw.
Discussing Film has shared the first trailer for Christmas at the Kringles, the new holiday horror-comedy from director Kevin Lewis (Willy’s Wonderland), arriving in theaters October 30 through Briarcliff Entertainment.
This one looks completely ridiculous. It leans harder into Christmas comedy than horror, but there’s plenty of blood splashing around between the holiday decorations, and a couple of the jokes got a good laugh out of me. Lennon losing his shit with a chainsaw certainly helps.
As we previously reported when the first image arrived, the film follows the Severson family as they move into a suburban neighborhood and meet the Kringles, neighbors who celebrate Christmas year-round. That sounds exhausting enough before you discover their sinister plans to hypnotize and indoctrinate the newcomers.
Ron Livingston (The Conjuring), Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Rachel Bilson (The O.C.), Arden Myrin (Satanic Panic), Donald Faison (Idle Hands), Beverly D’Angelo (Christmas Vacation), and David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer) star alongside Lennon, Alexis Kemp, and Zeke Jones.
Lewis directs from a screenplay by Zack Imbrogno (Slayers).
We haven’t even made it through Halloween yet, and the neighbors are already trying to force Christmas on us. At least this time there’s a chainsaw.
