‘Treehouse of Horror XXXVII’ Turns Springfield Into ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ [Images]

Halloween arrived in the mail today.

Fox sent over a really cool package celebrating The Simpsons’ upcoming “Treehouse of Horror XXXVII,” and the artwork gives us a closer look at Springfield’s transformation into The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Bart as Jack Skellington? Marge as Sally? Santa’s Little Helper as Zero? Amazing.

The annual Halloween special airs Sunday, October 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, and the mailer teases everything from supernatural marital problems to a very unfortunate adventure for Bart and his dog.

The Nightmare Before Christmas tribute immediately jumps out from the poster and the character images decorating the package. Bart gets Jack’s skeletal makeover and pinstriped suit, while Marge sports Sally’s patchwork look beneath her unmistakable blue hair. Mayor Quimby becomes Halloween Town’s Mayor, and Krusty appears to take on the Clown with the Tear-Away Face.

According to Variety’s recent interview with executive producer Matt Selman, the episode’s opening is a Nightmare Before Christmas mashup produced by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. The studio behind Robot Chicken is bringing Springfield into stop-motion for the occasion.
