Disney’s Halloween Merch Has a Mean Streak With ‘Alien’ and ‘Treehouse of Horror’

Disney is putting some of its creepier properties front and center this Halloween, spotlighting merchandise inspired by Alien, The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror, Tim Burton’s Edward Scissorhands, and its own classic villains. And there’s a ton of great shit in here for the adults.

There was so much fear and panic when Disney announced it was buying Fox. The sheer size of the company still makes me uncomfortable, but I do think they’ve shown that horror fans matter. That extends beyond the movies and into the merchandise, and this Halloween’s selection feels aimed squarely at those of us who grew up with these characters.

The Treehouse of Horror stuff is a perfect example. Skeleton Homer and the evil Krusty doll? Chef’s kiss. Add Skeleton Bart, patchwork Itchy and Scratchy, and that hilarious donut-headed Homer, and there’s plenty here that’s got me psyched.

Springfield gets skeletal

Funko’s lineup includes Skeleton Homer, Skeleton Bart, the Krusty Doll, and separate Patchwork Itchy and Patchwork Scratchy figures. There’s also a Deluxe Zombie Snowball figure joining the spooky Springfield collection.

The donut-headed Homer shown in Disney’s roundup comes from JAKKS Pacific, while Kidrobot contributes Treehouse of Horror collectibles.
