‘Mark Spears Monsters’ Is Losing Its Heads With Gross New “Deadheads” Toys!

Mark Spears’ monsters are making the jump into gross-out toys, and we’re getting our first proper look this week.

Scrambled Eggs Creative has announced Mark Spears Monsters: Deadheads, a new collectible line arriving in 2027. The full reveal is coming during New York Comic Con, with the first prototypes on display at Tenacious Toys’ Booth 1771 at the Javits Center.

The company is teasing the weird, disgusting, over-the-top spirit of ’80s toys, and the preview certainly fits. We’re getting narrow glimpses of six monster faces, including a snarling werewolf, a green stitched forehead, a bloody vampire, and a rotting mummy. There are bulging eyes, big teeth, and slime hanging out of places it probably shouldn’t.

Spears has built quite a following around his detailed, colorful takes on classic monsters. His artwork has that old monster-magazine and painted horror-poster feel, giving familiar creatures a nasty new look while keeping their old-school appeal.

His Monsters trading cards helped establish the world that became his own Keenspot comic series in 2024. The first issue sold through its initial 13,000-copy printing, and the audience has grown considerably since: Simon & Schuster now lists more than for the series.
