Parker Posey is set to star in ‘Sleepover’, the next horror film from ‘Insidious: Out of the Further’ filmmaker Jacob Chase.
Good news, my friends, because Variety reports that Parker Posey (pictured above on the left in Scream 3) is returning to horror for Sleepover, a new film from Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures!
Adapted from Bryan McGuire‘s (Night Swim) short story, Jacob Chase (Insidious: Out of the Further) directs from a script he co-wrote with McGuire.
At this time, we don’t have any plot details. But I’d have to assume it revolves around a teen sleepover. Shocker, I know.
Executive producers are Chase, McGuire, and Bea Sequeira, with Lilly Tyson overseeing the project. Jason Blum will also produce.
Parker Posey in Blade Trinity
While many horror fans will know Posey from Scream 3 (a role that she absolutely killed), she has a long career in film on the more comedic side. The actor has been a regular in Christopher Guest’s comedies, appearing in movies like Best in Show, For Your Consideration, and Mascots. Other genre roles include Blade: Trinity and The Eye remake. She also starred in classics like Dazed and Confused, Coneheads, Party Girl, and so many more. She’s an extremely gifted actor who lights up the screen with every performance.
As for Chase, the filmmaker scored a hit with Insidious: Out of the Further. Not only did the film gross over $170 million worldwide, but it has been praised as one of the better Insidious sequels.
