Once you pop, apparently not even death can make you stop.
Pringles is celebrating Halloween with a one-of-a-kind urn shaped like its iconic can, giving one fan the opportunity to take their snack obsession to the grave. The prize also includes what the company calls an “afterlifetime” supply of Pringles—200 years’ worth, intended to be enjoyed during the winner’s lifetime and passed down to someone they choose.
Two hundred years of Pringles. Your descendants are going to have questions.
The “Once You Drop” campaign actually takes inspiration from a real story. Pringles can designer Fredric J. Baur had some of his ashes buried in one of his cans in 2008. Seriously.
Now the brand is offering a more elaborate version: an urn crafted with precious metal, a removable custom lid, and a personalized engraving dedicated to its biggest die-hard fan. It keeps the familiar Pringles can silhouette, which should make for an interesting conversation about what’s sitting on the mantel.
To enter, fans can visit OnceYouDrop.com and sign a “will and taste-ament” pledging to be buried in a Pringles can.
Entries open October 13 at 9 a.m. ET and close October 22 at 11:59 p.m. ET. No purchase is necessary, and the giveaway is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and Washington, D.C., ages 18 and older. One winner will be randomly selected and notified around Halloween. Full rules will be available at OnceYouDrop.com.
Pringles even recruited real-life funeral director @DanTheFuneralMan for the campaign’s promotional video. They’re really committing to the bit.
Check out the urn below. Please keep it away from the actual snacks.
