‘The Walking Dead’ Star Chandler Riggs Just Made a 19-Minute Audition for ‘Resident Evil’

Chandler Riggs spent years surviving the apocalypse as Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead. Now he’s stepping into the Baker family’s nightmare with Biohazard, a Resident Evil 7 fan film that he wrote, directed, and stars in.

Speaking with IGN, Riggs revealed that the short adapts Ethan Winters’ garage confrontation with Jack Baker. Riggs plays Ethan opposite fellow The Walking Dead actor Jason Douglas, who trades Tobin for the Baker family patriarch.

The short arrives online October 14, and there’s already a teaser below.

There isn’t much footage, but what’s there looks great. Honestly, the cinematography and production look better to me than The Walking Dead. That’s a pretty funny thing to say about a short starring someone from one of the most iconic television series of all time, but I’m impressed.

We’ll see how the whole thing plays out when it arrives tomorrow. For now, it’s certainly enough to make me take it seriously.

The 19-minute short follows Ethan as his search for his missing wife leaves him trapped by the infected Baker family. Mary Rachel Quinn, Eugenie Bondurant (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), Johnathan O’Neil, and Sam Coyles also star.

According to the production details accompanying IGN’s teaser, the team transformed Arturo Fuente’s original cigar factory in Tampa Bay into part of the Baker estate, emphasizing practical sets, effects, and stunt work with minimal digital effects.
