Lock the doors, kill the lights, and crank the volume because Popcorn Frights’ Wicked Weekend returns November 11-15, serving up five days of macabre delights, cult cinema treasures, blood-soaked slashers, and gloriously deranged genre entertainment. From twisted new visions of Gothic horror to legendary franchise icons, interactive fan experiences, filmmaker appearances, and the kind of cinematic lunacy that will melt your brain, Wicked Weekend is a celebration of the communal thrill of horror and the beautiful madness that happens when the lights go down.
Kicking off the festivities Wednesday, November 11, is VICTORIAN PSYCHO, a deliciously macabre descent into madness starring Maika Monroe (LONGLEGS, IT FOLLOWS) and Jason Isaacs. Set in 1858, this wickedly subversive Gothic nightmare follows an impeccably mannered governess whose arrival at the imposing Ensor House coincides with a series of increasingly disturbing disappearances.
Prepare to enter the HARLIN HOUSE for a nightmare experience worthy of the dream stalker himself. Film legend Renny Harlin (CLIFFHANGER, DEEP BLUE SEA) joins Wicked Weekend in person for a special presentation of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM MASTER, accompanied by an interactive fan experience packed with exclusive surprises, photo opportunities, giveaways, and more. It’s a chance to revisit one of the franchise’s most deliriously entertaining chapters with the filmmaker who brought this nightmare to life.
And because some traditions are simply too wicked to abandon, Popcorn Frights returns to Camp Crystal Lake on Friday the 13th with FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD, a fan-favorite chapter of the legendary slasher saga featuring the first appearance of Kane Hodder as Jason. Then, Popcorn Frights celebrates the 40th anniversary of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS with a wildly interactive live shadowcast by Infinite Abyss Productions, bringing the beloved horror musical’s outrageous characters and ravenous Audrey II to life in front of the screen.
Rounding out the mayhem, cult filmmaker Jeff Lieberman (BLUE SUNSHINE) appears in person for REMOTE CONTROL, a deliriously unhinged ’80s sci-fi-horror gem in which a seemingly harmless video rental turns viewers into murderous killing machines. Equal parts alien invasion satire and gloriously trashy cult spectacle, it’s the sort of cinematic oddity that deserves to be discovered—or rediscovered—with an audience ready to embrace every wonderfully bizarre twist.
