The popular ‘Fears to Fathom’ video game franchise is coming to film with a feature adaptation from SRYN Productions.
Video game franchise Fears to Fathom has been optioned for film and TV development by Scarlet Stallone‘s SRYN Productions, reports Deadline. Stallone will team with Rayll (aka Mukul Negi), creator of the Fears to Fathom franchise.
Less survival shooter and more psychological horror, the games are an anthology of standalone stories inspired by frightening real-life experiences.
There are six games in the franchise to date, titled Home Alone,Norwood Hitchhike, Carson House, Ironbark Lookout, Woodbury Getaway and Scratch Creek. All revolve around a different protagonist.
Said Stallone, “I’ve been playing video games since before I could read, and the first time I played Fears to Fathom, I was hooked. I’ve played every one since. Rayll’s games are grounded and genuinely unsettling, because the horror comes from situations that could actually happen to you. I love working with Rayll; we’re a great team, and I’m so excited to expand that world while keeping what fans love.”
Added Rayll. “I started Fears to Fathom as a very personal project, so seeing how far it has grown and how strongly people around the world have connected with these stories has been surreal. Scarlet immediately understood that what makes Fears to Fathom work isn’t just the scares — it’s the feeling that these situations could happen to anyone. I’m excited to work with her and SRYN Productions to bring that same tension and authenticity to a new medium.”
As for me, I haven’t played any of the Fears to Fathom games. But, based on all of this and the trailer below for Home Alone, I think that may need to change. Now if only I could find time in an already packed month of horror games…
