Netflix has acquired the creature feature spec script ‘Canopy’, said to be in the vein of ‘Predator’ and ‘The Shallows’.
If it bleeds, they can kill it.
At least, the protagonists of Canopy better hope so. Netflix has announced they’ve acquired the creature feature after a six-figure deal, reports Deadline.
Brandon Feldman wrote the spec script.
The film is said to be in the vein of movies like “Apex, Predator and The Shallows” and “follows a botanist searching for a rare medical cure in the uncharted Amazon canopy who must survive a terrifying, undiscovered apex predator after she is offered as a sacrifice by a local village.”
If Canopy can capture even a fraction of the thrills and terror of the latter two movies mentioned above, I’m all the way into this.
Producers are Adam Goodman and Matt Skiena.
