Calling all horror filmmakers: we’re looking for short films! Submissions are open through Night Frights LA, which provides a path for selected films to reach Scary Good, the upcoming horror anthology series from 2100films and Be Afraid Media, the team behind Dread Central and Be Afraid TV.
As we previously reported on Night Frights LA, the goal extends beyond a festival screening. Hosted by Elias Alexandro, the 13-episode series pairs horror shorts with original hosted segments for distribution through free, ad-supported streaming platforms. Official festival selections and past festival films receive first consideration.
Here’s an important part for filmmakers: you retain ownership of your standalone short and can continue licensing it elsewhere. Selected filmmakers participate in revenue sharing, and there’s no additional participation fee to include a selected film in the anthology. You can read the full licensing and distribution details on the official Scary Good page.
Night Frights LA’s short film category accepts horror films under 30 minutes, with the festival’s early submission deadline set for January 1, 2027. Check out the submission requirements and entry information and send your nightmare our way.
