We previously shared the team’s creature effects for the entity’s “attack mode,” which distorted Jessica Chastain’s (It Chapter Two) features into something equally unpleasant. Whatever your feelings about the movie, these galleries give the artists a chance to show off work that either flashes past onscreen or, in this case, never gets there at all.
Based on Josh Malerman’s Incidents Around the House, Other Mommy follows a young girl whose family is terrorized by an entity that wants permission to enter her heart. Our own Matt Konopka gave it 2 out of 5 in his review, calling it “a generic funhouse of horrors that’s seldom scary.” I still think the creature work deserves a closer look, especially when there are unused horrors like this sitting in the makeup department’s photo collection.
