Before we get a look at Anything But Ghosts, Curry Barker has something else coming our way.
The Obsession filmmaker has partnered with Windows on Mama Bear, a new short film premiering live on YouTube October 29. That’s about all we know right now. There’s no synopsis or runtime in the announcement, just a title and the promise of something new before Halloween.
After Obsession, that’s plenty of reason to be excited.
Barker’s breakout horror film passed $500 million worldwide, becoming the highest-grossing original film of the decade. Its story of a romantic wish gone horribly wrong turned into one of the year’s biggest horror success stories.
Next up is Anything But Ghosts, which Focus Features will release May 7, 2027. Barker and Cooper Tomlinson (Obsession) star as con artist ghost hunters whose fake paranormal investigations lead them to something terrifyingly real. I’m excited for that one, but getting a new short while we wait is a nice Halloween surprise.
