Godzilla Observes Mysterious Smoke Cloud in Fresh Look at ‘Godzilla Minus Zero’

Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, will soon stomp back into theaters with Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to one of the best Godzilla films ever made, Godzilla Minus One.

Courtesy of ScreenOnline, we have a fresh new look at the towering titan as he stares down a cloud of smoke. Check it out:

I’ve seen the film, and all I will tell you is that this shot occurs during an intense battle between Godzilla and a massive foe amidst the ruins of a major city. It’s one of many stunning images littered throughout the film. While Minus Zero, like Minus One, focuses heavily on the human drama, the third act delivers on the monster fight in a big way that should hopefully satisfy most fans.

Set in 1949, two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, the survivors learn that not only was Godzilla not destroyed, but a new monster has emerged. To defeat it, they’ll need to turn to an ally they never could’ve imagined…Godzilla.

Following the Oscar-winning visual effects of Godzilla Minus One, Takashi Yamazaki returns to direct the sequel, which was shot entirely in Japan using high-definition digital cameras certified by IMAX and optimized specifically for IMAX presentation.

Motosuke Iida reprises his Godzilla Minus One role as Akio Itagaki, the Toyo Balloon section chief who played a significant part in the previous Godzilla extermination operation. Kenji Misuhashi, Eita Okuno, and Kai Inowaki have also joined the cast alongside the previously announced returning and new faces.
