‘Sweetpea’ Season Two Trailer Teases a Killer Comeback for Ella Purnell

How’s this for a killer comeback?

Deadline reveals that Sky and Starz have dropped a trailer for season two of Sweetpea, starring Ella Purnell (Fallout) in a Dexter-like role as a woman who kills…but for good.

Adapted from the novel by C.J. Skuse, “The action picks up after the deadly events of the Season 1 finale, with Rhiannon now navigating a promotion at the local newspaper where she works, while dealing with a copycat killer threatening to expose her. As her kill list mounts, she is forced to consider whether her ex-boyfriend AJ was correct: Is she a monster?”

I’ll be the first to admit, I didn’t watch the first season of Sweetpea (I know, I know). I’m as shocked as you are, because I actually love Purnell, who has been making a killing (heh) in her career with roles on series such as Yellowjackets and Fallout. She’s always fun to watch, and this role looks perfect for her. I guess I need to check out the first season now, especially with how fun season two looks.

Purnell reprises her role as the innocent by day, killer by night Rhiannon. Joining the cast are Rish Shah as Rhiannon’s romantic interest Gabriel, Tamsin Greig as AJ’s mother, Liv. Taj Atwal as Freya, Rhiannon’s new boss, and Jenny Walser as new friend Daisy. Returning cast members include Jon Pointing, Jeremy Swift, Leah Harvey, Ingrid Oliver, , and .
