Prestige International Pictures (PIP) has acquired the quinceañera body horror film ‘Fifteen’, sounding like it has shades of Jennifer’s Body
As a great woman once said (Needy from Jennifer’s Body), Hell is a teenage girl.
Deadline reports that Prestige International Pictures has acquired all sales rights to Fifteen (Quince, pictured above), a coming-of-age horror film about a quinceañera celebration that goes very, very wrong.
Here’s the synopsis: “The body horror follows a Mexican girl who has been planning the perfect quinceañera with her best friend until she begins to transform into something monstrous, causing a rift in their friendship as her birthday party spirals into chaos.”
Yeah, that sounds a lot like Jennifer’s Body in the best possible way (minus the demonic possession, as far as I can tell).
Greta Martí, Macarena Oz, Aminta Ireta, Cloe Furlong and Mercedes Hernández star.
Mexican brothers Jack Zagha and Yossy Zagha directed from a script by Andrzej Rattinger and Ricardo Álvarez Canales.
Said Yossy Zagha, “People keep telling teenage girls, ‘You’re becoming a woman,’ as if that isn’t terrifying enough. We took that fear and put it inside the biggest party of her life.“
Producers are the Zagha brothers for Avanti Pictures, alongside Elsa Reyes and Películas V’s Valentín Javier Diment and Vanesa Pagani.
No word on a release date yet. Stay tuned to Dread Central for more info as we learn it.
