Check out the red-band trailer for ‘Jeffrey Dollmer,’ the latest killer doll flick available at home starting November 03.
Anyone here a big fan of Dolls? Not, like, actual dolls, but Stuart Gordon’s 1987 cult classic about, you guessed it, killer dolls? Controversial as it may seem, it’s my favorite in the killer-doll subgenre, beating out Puppet Master and even Child’s Play. So, I’m always innately interested in whatever new killer toy comes ’round, even if it’s, err… Jeffrey Dollmer? Watch the latest red-band trailer for yourself below:
Per the distributor: In 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer discovers a doll and performs a ritual in an attempt to transfer his spirit into it, but is captured before he can complete his sinister plans. For decades, the doll remains locked away in police evidence — until it is finally discarded and finds its way back into the world. In the present day, the doll’s spirit is accidentally summoned and quickly latches onto a young model who bears a resemblance to its former owner. When the model travels to a remote photo shoot, the possessed doll follows, turning the isolated set into a killing ground as it begins stalking fellow competitors and co-workers.
Is the movie in good taste? I can’t say for certain. Is the trailer, featuring dickless corpses and doll gooning, in good taste either? I definitely can’t say. That’s for you to decide, but in an era of IP horror, it was only a matter of time before the puntastic killers made their way to our screens.
