‘Resident Evil’ Is Now on Digital; Watch the Opening Nine Minutes

Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is now available on digital, priced at $24.99 to purchase or $19.99 to rent through digital retailers.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, or just want to get in the mood for another trip to Raccoon City, Fandango has premiered the opening nine minutes. Watch below.

Austin Abrams (Weapons) stars as Bryan, a medical courier whose delivery to Raccoon City turns into a desperate fight for survival over one increasingly horrifying night. Paul Walter Hauser, Kali Reis, Zach Cherry and Johnno Wilson also star. Cregger (Barbarian, Weapons) directs and co-wrote the screenplay with Shay Hatten.

Dread Central’s Matt Konopka called it a “lean, mean, bloody as hell thrill ride” in his review.

For more, Matt spoke with Cregger and Abrams about making the film for our September cover story. We also recently dug into Cregger’s frustration with the conversation surrounding his adaptation and why so much of it had little to do with the movie itself.
