Jessica Rothe, best known to horror fans as Tree in Happy Death Day and next seen in the slasher River, stars in yet another nightmare.
Brainstorm Media has acquired U.S. distribution rights to Imposters, with an early 2027 theatrical release planned, reports Variety. The sci-fi thriller premiered at SXSW earlier this year and marks the feature debut of writer-director Caleb Phillips.
Rothe and Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) play parents whose baby boy is abducted. His mother discovers a way to bring him home, but his father begins to suspect that the child she returned with isn’t theirs. Yul Vazquez (Severance) also stars.
When we shared the teaser, the footage immediately brought Pet Sematary to mind. These parents venture into a mysterious cave, and getting their child back appears to come with some very disturbing consequences.
Phillips previously directed the award-winning short Other Side of the Box. As we reported after SXSW, Paranormal Activity and Insidious producer Steven Schneider joined Imposters as an executive producer through Spooky Pictures. Thomas Bond, Sara Seligman, and Hell House LLC producer Joe Bandelli produced the film.
