The spider horror pic ‘Crawlers’ starring Matilda Lutz will creep onto digital this November from Saban Films.
I have a hate/love relationship with spiders. They creep me out, but I also don’t have the heart to squash them. It’s a problem when a spider takes over a corner of my apartment, and I decide it just lives there now. Ah well, keeps the fly population down.
If spiders also creep you the hell out, then you’ll want to check out Crawlers when it releases on digital next week, courtesy of Saban Films.
Directed by Angel Gómez Hernández, Crawlers stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge) as Serena, the manager of an apartment complex where a mysterious death initially appears connected to a viral outbreak. Instead, the building is being overrun by a rapidly multiplying infestation of venomous spiders.
The residents become trapped inside under quarantine, leaving Serena to navigate the building and somehow keep everyone alive while confronting her own fear of spiders.
In his 3.5-star review of the film, Dread’s Chad Collins wrote that the Crawlers “doesn’t reinvent the killer spider subgenre, but thoughtful filmmaking and plenty of squishy gore will terrify arachnophobes everywhere.”
Hey, sometimes squishy gore and creepy crawlies are all you need for fun horror.
Crawlers arrives on digital November 10th, followed by a DVD release on December 22nd. Pre-order here.
