We have our first look at the upcoming horror film ‘Godmother’, featuring Dee Wallace, Bruce Davison and Riley Dandy!
The miracle has already begun.
Or so the unnerving poster for the upcoming horror film Godmother declares ahead of its festival debut.
The film’s IG account provides our first look at the independently produced and financed feature from YouTubers Alanah Pearce and Sean McLoughlin.
Godmother follows a young woman named Theo who heads into the desert for a romantic weekend with her boyfriend and sister. But when they arrive at their vacation rental, they’re greeted by a couple who seem far too eager to meet Theo.
Paige Evans (Sorry About the Demon), Cameron Cuffe (Krypton), Riley Dandy (Christmas Bloody Christmas), Dee Wallace (The Howling) and Bruce Davison (X-Men) star.
That’s one heck of a cast. While I’m less familiar with the work of Evans and Cuffe, I’ve expressed my opinion on Dread before about how I think Dandy crushed her role in Christmas Bloody Christmas. As for Wallace and Davison? They’re icons. Hell, for a long time, Wallace was like my horror movie mom, appearing in favorites such as The Howling and Critters. Davison, meanwhile, has been in countless noteworthy titles, including the role of Senator Kelly in the first two X-Men movies.
The film is said to be inspired by Rosemary’s Baby and The Return of the Living Dead. I have no idea what that means (zombie baby?), but I’m here for it.
John Veron directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Pearce. Godmother marks Veron’s feature debut.
Pearce executive produced through her production company, Charred Pictures, alongside McLoughlin, who personally financed principal photography for the movie. Helmstreet Pictures funded post-production.
