Universal Studios Japan has brought the nightmare of Resident Evil Requiem to life with a full-blown haunted house, and we have video from inside the horrifying experience.
Resident Evil Requiem: The Dive officially opened today as part of Universal Studios Japan’s 15th anniversary celebration of Halloween Horror Nights. The R-15 horror maze is located inside Stage 18 and will operate daily from 10 a.m. until the park closes through December 27.
According to Universal Studios Japan, the experience recreates locations from Capcom’s latest survival horror game, including the abandoned Renwood Hotel and a medical facility. Guests are relentlessly pursued by hideous creatures capable of attacking from the ceiling, beneath their feet, and virtually every other direction.
Basically, there are no safe corners.
The walkthrough footage below takes us directly inside the attraction, which appears designed to replicate the suffocating tension of playing a Resident Evil game. Guests move through dimly lit hallways and detailed environments while waiting for something horrible to emerge from the darkness. You’re constantly advancing deeper into the nightmare with no idea where the next attack will come from.
The maze features a Licker encounter and an appearance by Leon, who apparently arrives to rescue guests during the experience!
