Exclusive: Amicus Returns to UK Cinemas with Anthology ‘In the Grip of Terror’; First Teaser Unveiled!

Amicus Productions is returning to UK cinemas with In the Grip of Terror, the first new Amicus horror feature in more than four decades.

The new anthology of macabre tales follows the classic Amicus tradition, drawing on the worlds of H. P. Lovecraft, Ambrose Bierce and E. F. Benson.

The announcement comes with an exclusive first look at the film’s official teaser trailer, ahead of theatrical screenings across the UK this October and November.

The UK theatrical rollout will begin at Lumiere Romford, where the film will screen from October 9-15, before continuing to Northern Light Cinema in Greater Manchester during the week commencing October 13th. A London screening will follow at Peckhamplex on Monday, November 2nd. Further dates and participating venues across the UK will be announced shortly.

The film stars Golden Globe nominee Jane Merrow (The Lion in Winter, Hands of the Ripper), Laurence R. Harvey (The Human Centipede II), and Megan Tremethick.

The theatrical release also marks the launch of British Horror Studio Picture House, a new cinema distribution arm from British Horror Studio.

The new division will handle theatrical releases for productions from British Horror Studio and its associated labels, alongside selected outside titles, with plans being developed to expand the model into North America during 2027.

British Horror Studio founder and Amicus Productions president Lawrie Brewster said:
