IFC and Shudder have debuted the first poster for ‘Breeder’, warning that there is a price to pay for perfection.
What price would you pay for perfection?
IFC (The Independent Film Company) and Shudder have released the official poster for Breeder, featuring the creepy silhouette image we’ve seen associated with the film for months now.
In Breeder, an eccentric poodle breeder lures a broke college student to her remote ranch with a promise of research funding. But as he soon learns, there’s a catch.
Daniel Doheny, Dot Marie Jones, Maddie Phillips, and Tanaya Beatty star.
Alex Goyette wrote and directed, marking his debut feature.
Goyette previously stated, “Independent Film Company and Shudder have always been a dream home for us. We’re thrilled to partner with them to bring Breeder to audiences following its world premiere at Tribeca. As conversations around eugenics continue to resurface, our film confronts those ideas through the eyes of a deranged poodle breeder.”
Producers include Ian Start, Byron Ashley, Brian Mitchell, Chris Wilkinson, and K. Asher Levin. Executive producers are Jeremy Ross, Ronnie Exley, Steven Schneider, Ryan Marchant, and Tyson Call.
The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this June. In their review, Dread’s Caroline Covin described Breeder as a “perverted and hilarious horror debut”.
Breeder has also officially been rated R for “Disturbing material, violence/bloody images, sexual content, graphic nudity, and language.”
Breeder barks into theaters on October 16th via IFC and Shudder.
